There are various lasers on the market that are used for a wide range of procedures — here’s how they can help reduce different skin imperfections:
Rosacea
There is definitely rosacea dietary advice you can apply to reduce your flare-ups. That said, pair your informed diet with laser treatment, and you will be able to effectively combat rosacea symptoms and triggers.
To treat rosacea, we use a Vbeam laser — a pulsed-dye laser that’s been used to reduce rosacea symptoms as well as other skin conditions for over two decades.
When you choose Baywood Clinic for rosacea laser treatment, you will only need three to four sessions and will see quick results. In fact, it’s common to see results after just one session!
Acne
Various studies have shown that acne is closely connected to mental health — part of this correlation is because acne can cause severe insecurity, which can lead to feelings of stress and anxiety.
Alternatively, feelings of extreme stress and anxiety can bring upon acne and trigger breakouts. According to Anxiety Centre, stress causes sebum-producing cells, which increase oil production and, in turn, trigger breakouts.
It’s a cycle that is physically and mentally damaging. Fortunately, laser treatment can be used to reduce acne, as well as any post-breakout scarring. At Baywood Clinic, we use the SmoothBeam, a non-invasive laser that releases gentle pulses of light, to treat acne.
Instead of burning or cutting the skin, we use the laser to direct light at the affected area. Overproductive oil glands cause acne, but this laser weakens these oil glands by applying heat.
The procedure is significantly more comfortable than one would assume, specifically because the SmoothBeam has a Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) that emits cryogen to cool an area before the laser targets it.
The SmoothBeam also stimulates collagen production in the skin’s deeper layers, which allows it to treat any scars that may have occurred from acne flare-ups. Results from laser acne treatment will typically show roughly 6-8 weeks after the procedure.
Scarring
An acne lesion can leave inflamed, broken blood vessel groupings that result in scarring. We use our Vbeam laser to heat these blood vessels, which causes them to close off, shrink, and get absorbed. The Vbeam laser releases a cooling solution to protect your skin before the light is emitted.
Smoothen & Soften
Our pulsed dye lasers will reach your skin’s deeper layers to produce collagen, which helps to make your skin smooth and soft. It also reduces facial veins and redness while at it! Collagen improves elasticity and firmness, which helps to restore your youthful glow!
Age Spots & Sun Spots
For facial rejuvenation, we use our Nd-Yag Laser and Alexandrite Laser. These lasers treat age spots, brown spots and sun damage. We use our long-pulsed Alexandrite Laser for sun damage, whereas our Q-Switched Yag Laser is used to reduce spots that appear on the hands or face.
At Baywood Clinic we also offer Laser Micropeels to reduce spots. Using the MicroLaserPeel we are able to treat various skin conditions like spots by ablating the skin’s outer layers. This not only treats pigmentary problems but can also be used for scars and wrinkles.
Varicose Veins
Varicose veins are raised, bulbous veins that can cause itching or burning sensations. To treat varicose veins, our surgeons use an endovenous laser. EndoVenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) is minimally invasive, and will not only remove your varicose veins, but also the symptoms that come with it such as itching and swelling.
Spider Veins
Spider veins are a nuisance; they are spider-like blue and red lines that appear on your skin for seemingly no reason. Although they are predominantly cosmetic and don’t actually have any health effects, they can cause insecurity depending on their size.
While spider veins are typically treated via sclerotherapy, the injected solution can put you at risk of ulceration if applied on the face. We treat facial spider veins with our pulsed dye laser; a laser commonly used in teaching hospitals.
Remove Hair
Sometimes coarse hair can get in the way of having silky smooth, clear skin. Fortunately, we offer laser hair removal that targets your hair follicles so that you can cut down your shaving time substantially.
